Angels and Spirituality
Art in the memory of …

Call to Artists:

Hospice Friends is hosting a silent auction art exhibit fundraiser involving local artists. Artists will be asked to donate an art piece that celebrates the theme: Angels and Spirituality. The goal of this event is to support and promote Hospice Friends and the artists in our county and enhance community partnerships. This is an opportunity for artists to dedicate their artwork in memory of those who have passed before them and perhaps touched their lives in a meaningful way.

What is Hospice Friends? Hospice Friends is a non-profit charitable organization that provides peace, comfort and care to the elderly, the bereaved and those facing a life-limiting illness. Most of the non-profit’s revenue comes from donations and memorials. Tish Siegel, Hospice Friends volunteer and chair of the angel exhibit, believes, “a community based fundraiser involving local artists will not only benefit the Hospice Friends organization, but give artisans a platform to honor and demonstrate the journey of spirituality in their lives.”

Materials: Artists will be asked to donate a piece of work from a wide range of media including the following: painting, drawing, printmaking, wood carving. wood burning, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and textiles. The artwork needs to be no larger than 20” X 24” for 2-dimentional framed work and no heavier than 20 pounds for 3-dimentional work. The artists will suggest the value of their piece, a minimum bid will be written on a bidding sheet and then the prospective buyer can place a bid on the artwork.

When and Where? The art works will be displayed for purchase in the Old Masonic Hall, 120 Pennsylvania Ave, Roslyn, WA. The silent auction exhibit will take place on Saturday, September 12th, from 1:00 to 7:00 pm with a reception including wine and appetizers from 4:00 to 6:00 pm that evening. The exhibit will also take place on the following day, Sunday, September 13th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will not be a silent auction on September 13th, but artworks will be available for purchase that day.
Live music is scheduled on Saturday.

Exciting prizes will be raffled off. Winners do not need to be present.
